Well, welcome to a massive pain in the butt.

To make matters challenging, you have to remove the factory cat pipe (2 more bolts and the O2 housing) and then unbolt and fight off the factory heat shield, which has four fold bends. If you had redonkulous mad skillz, you might be able to do this on the car. I could not.

Another dumb thing Mitsu did was have the nut part of the bolt built into the cat pipe. Well guess what? They are made really strange and I fought with the Ultimate midpipe and factory cat pipe for about 45 minutes trying to get them to merge. _No_frakking_way_ that was going to happen, it just wouldn't aligh. So I went to Home Depot, since the supplied bolts and nuts weren't long enough to go all the way through the extended portion of the factory cat pipe with the factory nuts.
It was a fluke, I had my sheet metal tools home because Im switching jobs. I just whipped out my Greens(aviation snips) and cut off the ****ing shield around the flange, took about 20 seconds.

I may follow your home depot tip, seeing as I only have one bolt in at the moment...

Yup. Like the lightweight, no muffler on drivers side, and the rear diffuser helps it blend.

i would sacrifice the extra X lbs to maintain the balanced look. the stock rear bumper highlights that something is missing. it kinda reminds me of the V6 mustang guys with a GT rear bumper - only one exhaust outlet when there are cutouts for two.

although i see your point about losing weight (even if marginal) to compensate for weight due to the driver to make some headway in left to right balance.

as long as you like it,

I'm really liking the sound, reminds me of my Evo 8 with the RSR exhaust...just a little quieter.

Might have to score this...I'm all about weight reduction .

I'm all for losing a muffler to save weight and make more power.
I love the slanted exit as well, but not a fan of the muffler design.

As always, great review.
