i need help with my boost controler. i have a turbonetics MBC and at 7k rpm it still tapers to 15 psi and i dont know if its the boost controler or just my boost guage not reading accurately. my boost guage is a autometer. and i also noticed that the needle bounces. lets say im holding 20 psi but the needle bounces between 19 and 21 really fast. is this normal? and i dont think its leaking i used teflon tape and everything is tight. and someone help me?

 

also in 5th gear at 7k rpm the needle doesnt bounce its a constant 15 psi

 

sounds about right. most people are putting the peak at 23 then it tapers to about 18. you are starting low and its dropping down to 15. move it up a hair to 22-23 and see where you final boost is then. most us are waiting until they can fix the boost with the ECU . only time will tell.

 

have you take out the pill

 

Check your blow-off valve/diverter. Stock dv are notorious for robbing boost at high rpm.

 

how do i take the pill out? and its set to 22 psi in 3rd gear and in 5th gear its at 24 psi and tapered to 15 psi.

 

Stock Turbo has Trouble holding boost in the upper RPM's

 

You take the pill out by cutting it out, or replacing the hose

 

are you talking about between the waste gate and the boost source cus i have all new hoses between there?

 

the pill is in the top line you can fill it in there like a bump

 

i took that hose out. and i just looked at the hose i took out and it has a clamp over that pill right?

 

the pill is about 1" inside that line feal the lines and like I said it you will feel the bump in the line. Take it out that will help with the boost tapper

ok look at the first line cloest to you it has a bump in it that is the pill

 

Is there a how to? for the pill anywhere? What does taking that out accomplish?
