K&N filter part no. ? help!

K&N filter part no. ? help!

Anyone have the part no. for K&N drop in filter for X?

Also can someone confirm K&N intake filter is RU-4990?

I e-mailed K&N last week to see if they are developing a CAI system or if the have a drop in available. The response nothing was in the development phase as of yet for the X. So I don't know where you got that part number from.

they have developed a replacement filter for the X.... there was a magazine article about it...

They have not released the filter to the general public as of yet.

Check the specs the ineer diameter is 3" which will bolt on the stock flanges?

You can use a 3" filter but you will also be looking at making a type of mount as you will not want the mass air sensor bouncing around giving your ECU spastic readings.

Not to sound like a salesman but more looking to help you out.... For a pretty cheap alternative to doing your own we offer our air filter kit for the Evo X for $80. It includes a stainless steel mounting bracket, hardware and K&N air filter.

Its hassle free and takes all of 15min to install.

Yep, I went with the BR kit for $80 just for the mounting bracket. It will come in really handy. Even later when switching out filters. I had a huge problem ( and still do more or less) with the A/F ecu readings and I had to ghetto tie my intake. Still moves a bit.
