This seems to put the car at about 70 whp over stock on a mustang or DD. How in the world is this thing making this much power on the stock injectors? What are the IDCs at, and are you guys using an upgraded fuel pump to help keep things in check?
Good question.....

Well, I'm coming from an STi which has virtually no turbo lag due to the small turbo, short gearing and of course 2.5L engine. So the Evo already feels a little laggy already. I feeling the need for speed already and want a touch more but don't want much more lag. I'm thinking a 20g or green type would do it for me. We'll see how that goes because this turbo seems pretty awesome.

i drove my stock turbo'd 9 immediately after driving the dtm/blouch turbo'd X. of note, nick did the tuning on my car and it generated 332whp on the same MD. bottom line, the turbo seems very responsive; it doesn't generate as much torque below 4k as my stock turbo'd car, but absolutely runs away above 4k.

in reality, we aren't talking about V8s or even 2.5L 4-cyl motors. to generate that much more power with that little sacrifice of torque, given the constraint of 2.0L of motor in production for less than 1 year, is fantastic. i've always wanted a green but two things held me back. first was price, in that i would not only need a green but every single bolt on, to include an AEM, to make enough power to notice from the driver's seat. two was power potential for pump gas, in which the green is ok but given the first point, really did not do well enough for the money.

i'll put it this way - had this turbo existed for the 9, i'd be keeping mine. i just knew the dtm car was faster than my 9, even though we're talking some 300lbs difference. it still has a very "complete" feeling power delivery, like stock turbo cars with a good tune, but doesn't fall flat when you've got phasers set to kill. that's my take on it.

Everyone but me is out at an event this weekend. When Nick gets back I'm sure he'll be answering questions.

Have a little patience, we have had some other projects to take care of but we'll be back on the X shortly.
