lately thats what ive been wondering. Theres lots of people making great numbers put is this all done on stock fuel injectors and pump??
If you're worried, a pump is real cheap insruance. A Walbro GSS342 is about $100. I know lots of people criticise Walbros, but I've honestly never had a problem with one. A Supra pump or equivalent is around $350 and is still cheap insurance, assuming it will fit of course.

There are several shops that have installed Walbros and said it's not an exact drop in, but can be made to work.

I'm going to have to disagree with you on the walbro. I had two back to back fail on me in my sti, leaving me stranded on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck. After tow truck fees, mechanic fees for the install of the pumps TWICE, and misc expenses it cost me almost a thousand dollars. Walbro did nothing to reimburse me in any way. If I had it to do over again I would've hired an attorney and taken them to small claims court. I would rather stick fire ants in my dick hole than buy a walbro again. Bosch should have one that will drop in and fit without modifying the stock housing, and unlike a walbro it will be quiet and reliable.

If you had two fail back to back, do you think the problem could have been with the install? Were they installed by the same shop?

I've had five in my own personal, different, cars over the years. Never had a problem with any. I installed them all myself though, so I knew what I had when I was done. I agree, they are louder than the more expensive pumps.

Back in my Mustang days, I probably helped 30 or more other people install in different cars. The only time we ever had a problem, was when we wired the intank pump wrong and it wasn't running. We couldn't figure out why, what should have been a 700 rwhp Mustang, was only making 440 rwhp and shutting off at 4500-ish RPM. Well, the intank wasn't running and the inline helper pump (also a Walbro) was pulling fuel through a non running intank. This was actually when I lived in Atlanta, and was on the dyno at Engineered Performance, which was mostly an import shop, I think it was in 2002.

edit - OK, I need to revise my second paragraph. I know they are louder than MOST more expensive pumps. My last Mustang had a Weldon 2015B in it, and it sounded like a symphony of Walbros. But according to the flow chart supplied by Weldon on that pump, it flowed like 115gph @ 100 psi.

sounds like you either had bad luck or BAD LUCK on yours

I've never had a problem on my cars. I had a single on my 03, a double pumper setup on my 04 STI and a single in my Evo IX. The one thing I hate about them is the wining noise. It was not noticible in my 03 Evo, but the other two you could tell.

BTW - The description in the first post states "stock fuel system."

Well yes and no. I have been keeping in touch with Nick and DTM (great customer service) and hopefully he will update you guys as well, but ill tell you what i know. With the stock fuel set up and the mod list he gave on the car plus the turbo he was able to get 24 psi max out of the car. Then he did the modded walbro fuel pump and i think he said he was able to get about 28psi with out injectors.

Now this is what he told me. Pretty much he said for me to wait on the fuel pump since there is no actually fuel pump for the x yet. He said its better to wait and get a fuel pump that is actually fits correctly rather then getto rigging one to fit. And as for the injectors he also told me to wait, he said its better not to jump on the first injector out because they might be cheap, better to wait a lil and get the good ones.

Now he was telling me to to wait also because i am also going to be running meth, with meth and the stock fuel set up he did they math and said i should be able to run about 28 psi. Now i am not sure if he was talking about a 50/50 mix or 100% meth. I am hopeing it was 50/50 mix cuz dont really want to run 100% but ill call him monday about that. So i should be looking a lil over 400 awhp on a MD if its cool enough out side. Hoping to get the car dynod at night. He said the stock internals and very strong and should be able to handle this with ease and more (maybe around 33psi with ease).

So my game plan is to pretty much do what he is telling me. I think ill be happy with over 400 awhp on a MD and as soon as the right fuel pump and so good injectors come out for the X ill get thoes and some cams and get a retune and rasie the boost any where between 29 to 33 psi, hopefully that should put me around 450 - 460 awhp. Just a quick up date for you guys. Ill call him monday and see if he cant do a quick update for us thanks. Joe

I'll likely not upgrade my turbo/fuel pump/injectors until next spring but this turbo size is looking perfect. Just going from 24 to 28 PSI on the stock turbo that seems to be about 20-25 ft lbs of torque on a MD.

So a stock turbo at 28 PSI fading to 20 PSI @ redline:
300 AWHP @ 6600 with 325 AWTQ @ 4000

If this turbo with some fuel can hold 28 PSI to redline and get numbers close to:
400 AWHP @ 7500 with 350 AWTQ @ 4500

I think someone asked if a ball bearing version was possible for this turbo, not sure how that would work if you are not replacing the housing but it would rock if you could pull that off for an extra ~$400-500.

I would be sold.

Wow that does look nice and it probably spools like a champ! Only thing is the max flow is 47 lb/min @ 475 HP (365-395 whp?) versus 52 lb/min @ 520 HP (400-435 whp?) on the Dominator 2. Even the Dominator 1 is rated higher at 49 lb/min @ 490HP (375-410 whp?) which already had killer spool.

That turbo will definitely appeal to the auto-x people or those wanting a highly responsive turbo for the street and road course but assuming those are approximate crank HP ratings I would want a ball bearing version that is similar or slightly higher hp than the Dominator 2 though. Maybe something like this:

http://www.blouchturbo.com/turbos/Ec...Dominator_III/

I have a 50 Trim BB turbo on my eclipse so I can verify the benefit of a BB center section when it comes to spoolup, it's totally worth it. Don't get me wrong, the 2.5 BB is still going to outflow a 20G and likely get you low 11's, I guess we will have to get someone to test it and report back!
