HKS Hybrid Filter...

Any tuners see any gains with the HKS Hybrid drop-in or is it better to keep the stock filter since the MAF seems to be sensitive?...

I know D-sport just reported a gain of about 10 whp with just the HKS drop-in. They said the factory filter is very restrictive. I know a few other tuners also reported similar gains. The MAF will not be an issue because you're still using the stock intake and airbox.

I have been running that filter for awhile now. If I put the stock filter in I get that hesitation crap above 5500rpm. I don't notice it with the HKS filter. Pretty hard to beat for under $40.

Ya I have one as well and it feels like its less restrictive and lets it breathe a lot better and I do not have the hesitation above 5500 any more with the second reflash...

Definitely smoother up top and power doesn't seem to drop as much above 5500 rpm. Great cheap mod.

I have had the HKS for about 1k miles. Has really smoothed the car up top big time. After the second reflash car runs really smooth all the way to red line. Dont really feel alot of power gain, but it is smoother than factory filter. You can find it from a vendor on this site for 32 dollars. www.jscspeed.com Their customer service is very good and Justin seems like a nice guy. Mine shipped with tax and everything was 40 dollars.

2nd factory reflash plus HKS drop in filter = totally noticeable improvements.

had the reflash for 5 days now and the filter for 24 hours. I never got to try the filter on the original flash, but the combination of the two changes is a must do if you are looking to keep the vehicle fairly stock.

Another thumbs up here for the hybrid filter. Had an open element filter in for a while and it lost power up top and was the power delivery was not smooth at all, but it was slightly better than stock. HKS filter solved all that. Car doesn't necessarily feel faster but does feel smoother.

I've just installed the filter (together with intercooler pipes) and I can confirm, the high rpm hesitation is gone. The car pools smoothly up top and that's without any reflashes.

Getting mine tomorrow from Amplified Motorsports in Monterey Park for $35. Not bad as they are just down the street from me and I'll see if it is as good as people here are saying.

Besides the $ tag difference, how does the HKS air fliter compare to the WORKS air filter. If $ were not an option, would people go for the HKS over WORKS?
