Clutch? Flywheel?

Okay, so i knew the evo stock clutches were bad , but damn, the Xs clutch is a little *****. 3 hard pulls in 5000 miles and it goes. So now i need to get an aftermarket one. Any recommendations for DD and occasional track use? I was thinking of the ACT HD SS, but im open to suggestions. Also, do i really need to get a new flywheel now? What are its benefits. My stock one shouldnt be bad at all and i doubt it needs resurfacing. But like i said open to suggestions. Hoping to get it done soon tho cuz im dying to go to the track and see what a stage 2 evo X can run. Thanks guys! bump it!

Flywheel+lighter weight then stock (if you upgrade).
3 launchs and the clutch is shot? Wow. How many miles on that? You could damn near get that covered with low enough miles....ACT for DD, Exedy if you want it to last.
My $0.02

Mine has been to the track and ran 3 times netting a 13.4@101.5x.

I've had several hard launches on the street and mine does not slip...maybe you got a bad one, or maybe you have a habit of riding the clutch.

I'd try warranty first!

Im used to an easier clutch so maybe i was riding it a bit, but i dont think it was all from that. I am running 340 to the wheels no so i guess it couldnt handle all that. I would go through warranty to get it replaced but a) i dont have one anymore lol and b) ill end up getting another crap stock one. I was going to upgrade my clutch, but i def wasnt planning on doing that this soon

You're right, even if you do get another one from warranty, it most likely won't last very long anyway.

Just bite the bullet and get one. ACT would be fine and people have had success with them. I even had one on my VIII with 385whp for 30,000 miles and it still held up after a bunch of launches.

I haven't had an Exedy, but I hear they are good too. Unfortunatly they don't have their full lineup of clutches available yet for the X. In fact, there aren't many aftermarket choices right now...
