Thats burned/unburned fuel cause the car is running so insanely rich.

Totally normal.

My trunk turned brown from some night time spirited driving going from NY to PA. It literally looked like it was from another car that's how big the difference in color was. I have RRE's exhaust with 3 resonators, the samething happened on my stock on but this exhaust flows better is naturally it will spit out more. However this only occurs when I floor it. Normal driving is fine.

raz have you had a tune? not just the reflashes from Mitsu?

As someone above said it's cause it's running real rich and has a lot of unspent fuel. The first thing a tuner will do is lean it out, so this won't happen as bad as it is...

Yes, I don't have the TSB offhand, someone else probably does, but Mitsu has released 2 factory reflashes (that I am aware of) that fix some things, from what I've read on here (Don't know for sure as I know **** about what is in the 2 reflashes) it also leans it out a little, but not anywhere near what a tuner is going to do

Question Number 1's answer is, call your Authorized Mitsu Dealership, they will have the tune info, especially if you dig up the TSB off the site here.

Question Number 2's answer, Ecuteck is a tune you would get from a tuner shop, you would need to go to a tuner to get it done. Ecuflash is the freeware version which you can do yourself, but I don't really know how to tune so Ecuteck is the way to go.
Whatever method a tuner uses (provided the tuner is skilled) he should be able to manipulate the proper tables (provided he has access via his tuning software) and be able to tune your car in a very good manner. It all comes down to their artistry at that point. Some people like Al, some people like Ivey, though I am sure they both do wonderful jobs, they just tune in their own respective styles.

To remove the stains you can use a clay bar available at most auto parts stores. Just follow the instructions, it's pretty simple.

My 97 c5 and the X both do that from running rich. I just spray some simplegreen on th back of the vette and hose it off then wash it. The only thing that sucks, is each time you use a degreaser it takes the wax off. But its cheaper and faster than clay bar.
