Trunk pops by itself!

Does anyone else have a problem with their trunk popping open by itself? Mine seems to have a mind of its own. When im in close vicinity of the rear of the car occasionally it will just open on its own with the keys in my pocket. I was thinking it had something to do with my cell phone maybe interfering with it however im not so sure. This happens almost daily and is starting to irritate me a little. Also the button on the trunk lid doesnt work so well. I know if I take it to the dealer I certainly wont be able to initate the problem. Any ideas?

Likely the button is jammed down partially and you get close to the activation zone it opens then trunk. Get that button fixed and you should be good.

If you have the SSS you should not keep your key and cell phone in the same pocket. It will most certainlty mess things up.

I bet you're pushing the button in your pocket somehow. You can pop the trunk either by pressing twice, or holding the button.

On the trunk, just pushing the button will never open it. You have to hold it. It's only like half a second, but I've found that holding the button to pop it, is flawless every time.

What cell carrier? I think it has to do with the phone's technology, as well as what's used on the phone. i.e. is it a GSM network, or CDMA. Or is it using bluetooth or some other technology that might interfere with the smartkey

Not to mention other electronic devices around your smart key with wear out your battery on the key twice as fast. Pick up and read your owners book.
