FAST Key not so....fast?

Any one have this problem:

1.) Open the trunk by pushing the fast key button location on the trunk itself
2.) Close the trunk and walk to the drivers side door
3.) Grab the door - it won't open at first. Wait about 3 more seconds, and grab it again, opens fine.

It seems there is some delay from when the system senses a door/trunk closure, and its ability to recognize another event (opening a door or the trunk).

Its a hassle for me since I always have a backpack that goes in the trunk. So I always have to walk to the drivers door and stand there for a bit.

really? i've only encountered problems with fastkey when my remote FOB is sitting in the same pocket with my smartphone...

there seems to be some sort of interference... but when i carry the FOB and my phone in separate pockets, or in different places, its pretty flawless...

i have the same issue, but it doesn't bother me. I either unlock the car or just wait for the trunk closing delay. I do not have a smartphone or blackberry or iphone.

I don't have a problem from trunk to door.

But I do have an issue with holding my iPhone and trying to unlock my door.

+1 on the possible phone interference but haven't noticed the boot (trunk) issue.

If this information helps, I have the Bluetooth option and a Bluetooth phone.

The car disables FAST key entry for 3 seconds after you lock the car, and apparently after you close the trunk. Same thing happens to me. You can go into the settings on the Navi screen and set it to a 3 or 5 second delay. I don't remember if you can turn it off.

Walk slower to the driver door after you close the trunk

The design of the system is to prevent the car to unlock when you go to the trunk after locking the door and vice versa. Imagine you get out of your car.. lock it.. pop the trunk and the car unlocks because you get too close to it..

How about they use an if statement that checks if the car's been locked for more than 3 seconds.. If it has you're probably returning to the car and thus will want the door unlocked. Or maybe it just unlocks anyway and when you go out of range it locks...

Can you not put your backpack in the passenger seat or in the back seat? That would save that hassle. Or just push the button on the remote to unlock it (it still does have that right?).

how fast do you come around from your trunk anyways? this is turning into a funny thread.... we should moonwalk backwards to get the proper 3~5 seconds from trunk to door!!!

I have noticed slight delays, I usually wait for an audible "click" before pulling on the door handle.

Mine is slow on occasion. As long as it works, I'm fine with it.
