I got the Ralliart filter. It is a dry cotton filter unlike Works, K&N etc.

This is good because there is no need to worry about the filter oils damaging the MAF sensor. So far, back to back with the stock panel filter - the throttle response is faster and it feels like it is bit more powerful with the Ralliart filter.

But unlike the others, it is not a cleanable and reusable filter. The directions say it is meant to be replaced when dirty.

If you want to keep it stock, then the best thing would be a drop-in and get it tuned. You will be much more happy with it. It really wakes the X up!

Reusable filters FTW. I remember reading that Sport Compact Car is doing a drop in filter test for the Evo X. Works is participating.

Does anyone know if there's an Amsoil replacement filter for the X? I know that the Amsoil EAA filters are dry filters and they can be cleaned and reused. I heard they filter and flow better than most... but that's just what I heard...

I searched their website last week and they didn't list any replacement air filters for our cars.

Just bought the HKS Super Hybrid and what a difference from just an air filter. You can really hear the turbo spool up and the bov actually makes some noise now. Not sure how well it filters, but I'll find out soon enough - it seems like the air flows a lot better though. I definitely recommend buying some sort of drop in filter if you're not going with an intake system, it was worth the <$50 I paid.

I recommend jscspeed.com, they got me my filter real quick.

just take the filter out! no restriction! j/j i would probably just to go a autozone or advanced auto parts and have them order you a K&N, not too pricey. You cant really go wrong.

AMSOIL does not have a filter for the EVO's as of yet... Wish they would...

I just had the directions for the Ralliart filter translated from Japanese.

It says to inspect and clean by blowing light pressurized air on the metal mesh side of the filter if dirty every 10,000km. Filter is recommended to be replaced in 50,000km (30K miles).
