oil looks black before the recommended time change
Hey guys,
This is my first turbocharged car and I'm just wondering if you guys have noticed that your oil is black before the recommended time or km's to change the oil. It is a new car so I'm wondering if this is a problem or if it is common on turbocharged cars. I changed my oil roughly 3000 kms ago and now my oil looks like a dark coffee color

it is normal for turbocharged cars. I noticed some improvement after using the extended performance mobil 1 synthetic which can be used up to 15K ON N/A cars.
Smell it make sure it does not smell burned. Also make sure is not too runny, hard to tell with Mobil1 since is so thing(being synthetic). If it does not smell burned and it feels like is somewhat still OIL, is probably fine.
I recomend switching to a better oil, my personal recomendation is AMSOIL. But there are others which many people swear by, like Royal Purple, Eneos and Rotella.

Just remember, tune = no engine warranty if you take it in with the tune still on the ECU.
And my oil, after 3k hard miles is a light brown. The engine's not burned any oil either (w00t!).

untunned evos run pig rich from factory, means some of that fuel will be pushed down the crank case and get your oil dirty.
FYI, we carry many great products, easy as spray into yor throttle body and or induced thrue a vacume line, and also premium pour in the tank, that will maintain your top end clean free of carbon deposites, you can visit our thread https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ighlight=wynns

Yeah, like wat the guys say, the 'rich' part could be a contributor.
My car's at 6500km & I have done 4 oil changes, includes fully syn, semi syn & even motul 300V, all w-40 oils. Even barely 1700km interval, I get coffee from the oil sump
I don't drive hard.. alot of cruising though at about 90-100kmph.Looking forward to a tune when error codes & rev limits are supported in the flash.
You think thats bad, our mazda's have the direct injection and combined with the pig rich stock tune the oils shot at like 1k. We're at ~2.5k changes now because the fuel dilution gets so bad
