Question Injectors help!

What is the difference between High and low Impedance injectors?

I am planning to upgrade my turbo to a blouch Dom 2 turbo.
What kind of injectors should i get, High and low Impedance? What size should i get 1000cc or 800cc if i want to tune my car to about 400whp? I have Works P2 flash to control fuel.

Thank You

Kirk

Found a company that makes 1000cc high impedance injectors. I will get some more info tomorrow and post up here.

from what i know (correct me if im wrong), evos are low impedance...(im not sure with the X)...low impedance injectors requires in-line resistors or a resistor box (usually found in the injector harnesses) for it to run...high impedance are injectors that doesnt require in-line resistors or a resistor box..then again im not sure with the X..

According to FIC:

Low Impedance injectors measure between 1.5 and 4 Ohm between the terminals. High Impedance Injectors measure between 11 and 16 Ohm between the terminals.

And from looking at their website all Mitsu injectors are listed as low impedance.

So I would measure the stock injectors and find out what they are and go from there.

Thumbs up

The X uses high impedance injectors. We've got an 800cc high impedance injector kit for the Evo X available

Darryl,
do you think that 800cc is good for 400 whp with an upgrade pump. I am going for the blouch dom 2 turbo. are you guys going to sell the 1000cc+ injectors in the future. i would like to get the bigger ones so that i do no have to upgrade later down the road. (i do not want to go too big though)

thank you

i bought my turbo back from you 3 months ago and i love it.

May want to read my review of Blouch before you order that 2.0 Kirkklau. I'm sooooo glad they didn't touch my turbo. I posted it here but got deleted since it was the wrong section. Will repost in the vendor review section.

Hey Kirk,

We will be offering larger injectors in the near future. Those injector kits will be low impedance and come with a resistor pack and additional wiring. The 800cc's, being high impedance are a much easier install.

As for fuel pump upgrade, have you figured that out yet? It's not exactly a direct drop-in for the X like it was for the VIII/IX because of the integrated fuel filter. We're releasing a solution for that soon as well.

Darryl,

would your low impedance injectors with a resistor pack and additional wiring works with stock ecu.

i thought that low impedance injectors will only works with aftermarket ecu.

how big of an injectors will you go for if you were me.

when are you going to release the fuel pump solution?

thanks

The low impedance kits will work with the stock ECU, however, you will obviously need some form of management (flash, piggyback, etc).

If your goal is 400whp, all you really need is the 800cc's. In terms of injectors, bigger is not always better. The bigger you go, the more drivability and gas mileage usually suffer.

The fuel pump kits should be released in the upcoming weeks.

Stay posted.

The Evo X has high impedance injectors. With our 35R, we had to run 1000cc low impedance injectors w. an AEM Peak and Hold Injector Resistor Box.
