Question AEM Water/Meth Injection FailSafe.

i know that aem has a failsafe output. my question is what do you connect the 12v output to? does the stock ecu has a input so that we can program the ecu to retard timeing if there is anything wrong with the AEM system? do we need a coonect the failsafe to something to vent the boost of the wastegate.

Question

4myx,

the part from labonte (bbk-20) is all we need to set up the aem system?

does the labonte take the 12v output that the aem system put out?

do we need anymore fail safe device?

which size tank did you go for? would you go for a 5 gallons tank? how long does the 1 gallon tank last you? where did you mount your tank?

thanks

The fail-safe wire from the aem kit will connect to the labonte bbk-20. You dont need nothing else. If you decide you want secondary protection you can get there other safety device that detects your flow from the pump. I mounting my pump and tank in the truck using the 1 gallon tank, unless you are going to be on the floor from light to light everyday I wouldnt get the 5 gallon tank. I will take a picture later so you can see how I mounted mine

I ran my meth line under the car on the drivers side, along with the metal lines, and zipped tied to them.

i just ordered my aem kit and the bkk-20.

thanks again

I was just wondering where you guys placed the nozzle and how you mounted it. I have heard that the best place is on the LICP before the throttle body. Also, is any welding involved to mount the nozzle. Thanks.

I used sheet-metal, couple of bends and painted it flat black. Just go to lowes or home depot they carry sheet metal, if I remember correct I only payed 5 or 10 dollars for it.

Now as of the meth/mix I bought boost juice that comes in a box of 4-gallons from a gentelman who is on the forum, he sales them on e-bay. Snow performance makes the stuff, its 49% meth 51% water. You can also just go to a race shop and buy meth and mix it yourself, its alot cheaper that away, thats probably what ill be doing when Ive used up all the boost juice. Just make sure if you mix it to use purifed water.
