I bought the drop-in for my MR and I really can't tell much of a difference besides the car running slightly smoother. I'm planning on getting a tune eventually after someone develops clutch packs...

I put my drop-in filter in because I wanted to lean out my AFRs until ECUflash comes out (I used HKS). I think its great you can use such a simple way to improve HP a little until you can waste $500 - $700 on a tune.

"waste"???..!!! You will realize that once you "waste" the $500 on a tune how wrong you are at which point you will use terms like invest rather than waste. Make you realize what the Evo X you just paid $30+k for is capable of.

I have kids, so priorities change. I have invested thousands tuning on my prior cars. The filter works for me until a reliable version of ecuflash shows up.

yea, a custom tune will void my powertrain warranty, so the filter will have to suffice for a while. just bought the K&N last week should arrive today, i just hope it can actually lean out the AFR a little, give me a bump in power and some better gas mileage.
