Bleeding transfer case?
Bleeding transfer case?
I changed out the oil in the transfer case the other day. I already drove around a 100 miles or so and today I noticed something in the service manual about bleeding the unit. You need a scan tool to do so, which would require going to the dealership. I did the maintenance myself to avoid paying all that labor cost. So it would defeat the purpose of doing it myself.
My question is, is bleeding really necessary? What would happen if all of the air isn't out of the transfer case?

Bleeding is for the Active Center Differential clutch pack fluid which is not touched when you are changing LSD fluid.
There is nothing you need to do unless you have taken the transfer case off the car and emptied out all of the red ACD fluid out of the clutch pack side.
