Is there anothere exhaust thread that talks about performance gains? Or which down/mid(test)/catback pipe combo is a good choice?

The intent of this exhaust thread is to show members of the community a sample of the systems available on the market for the Evolution X. In this case, as mentioned by another member it is all about sound, price and looks. Most of the 3" systems on the market will yield "similar" gains. This is not astro pyshics. Good luck finding a thread that shows the gains and such for each exhaust sytem on the market with different combinations. Who has the resources to test these options? It's fruitless. There is enough data available for even the half witted consumer to make an informed decision. Take some intiative to do some research, ask the proper questions and use a little common sense to arrive at a conclusion. Often times, people on this site are lazy and have zero pride in the hobby of modifying their car. Everyone wants their hand held and to be told EXACTLY what to buy. The information is out there, look for it. Everytime you turn around there's a thread where someone wants to know what "the best" (insert part) is. As with anything else, there really is no such thing. Much of it depends on personal preference as to what look you're going for, how much you have to spend, how you want it to sound and your performance goals (in no particular order).

Too lazy to search? Well, if I was, then I wouldve just start a thread asking for "which is a good exhaust to buy" it's because I knew ppl will slam me with " do a little search and u will find ur answer" " stop being lazy" kind of replies, I searched. Where to search ? Of course start from the forum, and section for exhaust/intake/power bolt ons, and in the section, first thing I see, "offical exhaust thread". Then I thought, great, let me start my SEARCH from this thread, but after reading so many pages, didn't find what I was hoping to read up about.

I am not trying to start a forum war over here and waste others' time, just saying if the title of this thread was "the offical exhaust sound" thread, then it will be better for ppl searching for answers.

Also, I know that they yield similar gains when they all 3 inch pipes, but some products aren't. For example, I was ready to purchase the blitz nur spec, until I read about another member's review that pointed out it has only 2.85 diameter at the mouth of pipe so it can be mate with the factory cat pipe. That's the kind of info I was looking for. And because I thought "the official exhaust thread" would contain these kind of reviews... But ok, I apologize, to anyone that my input has upset you, or made u think "geeze, another one of those lazy bastard that want everything to be handed to him" or disturbed you in any ways, I am sorry, I will look elseswhere.

I'm starting to think the only quiet exhaust is the HKS Legamax, which Michael shows has a massive restriction. I'm really thinking the only exhaust that will work for me is the factory exhaust

I was concerned with sound and I found that the Magnaflow unit and the Buschur Racing Crossflow are reasonably quiet systems that perform well. I currently have the BR Crossflow and I couldn't be happier with it. Nice deep tone but quiet. At idle on a warm start you don't even notice the exhaust as aftermarket. The same goes for cruising in the vehicle. Have you looked into other test pipe options as well to keep the noise to a minimum? UR makes a mini-muffler test pipe and many other manufacturers have resonated test pipes available.

I was thinking you could get something similar from MRT, wouldn't you. They seem like a respectable shop/business.
