IMO a high-flow cat is a good compromise between running with a cat and running catless. Don’t want to be a righteous jerk, but on some summer days you can physically see the air here in the Texas area. Don’t do it.

You seem like you want opinions on cat or no cat for sound.

in the Evo world, we do it for power! you want to run alot of boost, you need good airflow. the BEST air flow is NO CAT!

a good compromise though is a high flow cat. some flow better than other. one of the best flowing is Randomtech.

I have

UR DP
UR TP
Greddy TiC
UR HFC(standby)

Tried switching back and forth between TP and HFC and settled for TP love the the power curve feel and tone of the system. But love it even with guilt of emissions. All u guys that are for greener u should not be buying an evo in the first place its carbon output is very high. My Porshe with no cats has a cleaner ouput than a evo does with full emissions!

Incorrect, the EVO is a four banger while the Porshe is a straight six. More cyclinders more output.

Later, Ken

So what do you do when you have to get it inspected ? We have to get our cars inspected every year in PA right?

It is because of this kind of stuff( loud exhaust, really loud) no cat, and similar stuff. That governments and everyone on their mother is cracking down on tuning your vehicles. Be more responsible so we can keep on doing what we like.

I mean, really if you are not racing put a cat on it. The extra 10 hp to be gain can be done without harming the environment.

P.S. On a side note, the federal fine for removing the cat is like 10k dollars if you get caught. And one positive thing about running a cat, is not having to worry about the light on the dash coming on.

High flow cat's are still illegal. Modifying your stock exhaust system is illegal. Read the law.

The $10,000 fine only applies to shops. It is less if you do it as a person.
