With the Blouch Dom 2.0, I think it's just Garrett turbine and compressor wheels, but the standard journal bearing MTI CHRA. The 2.5, which they don't sell anymore, had the full Garrett CHRA IIRC.

At boost levels safe for pump gas, is there really a difference between the two turbos? If one spools sooner than the other I would suspect the peak power would come earlier but both turbos would achieve same power on pump gas. The audience for these turbos appear to be daily drivers and road racers. Mid range power is what I am looking for. Am I looking for the impossible? Or u it worth waiting for future options? I can't imagine much will change on the front of technology. So what should a brotha do?

Oh, I suppose I could have mixed that up. More than likely I did

IMO, wait for the Garrett ball-bearing 3071 and 3076 drop-ins to come out, and see how they do.

the dom2x is not a ball bearing 30chra..

its a non ball bearing version...

that may have been the confusion.

whats the difference between the 3071 and 3076? Are both of these using the same housing as stock or are they complete turbines and housings? If they are in different housings, would it be safe to assume the housings are larger? If larger, whats the difference in spool-up and pump gas performance for a 3076 in the stock housing compared to that of one in a larger housing? I have had an RNR 3076 in a previous Evo 8 that I was less than enthused about.

Personally, I'm looking forward to a possible bolt-on 3076. I used a Precision 3076R on my S2000 and the spool up was great along with a nice top end. The car put down 430 rwhp on 15 lbs of boost with minimal fuss. Great turbo...
