Does the Works Drop in air filter really give the X +27 HP @ 5600 RPM and +13 TQ @ 4300 RPM I read it on this website below... I just find this to good to be true.

My experience with changing airfilter on Evos is that the cone filters rob them from power without a tune, atleast my Apexi did.. My buttdyno said like 2-5 hp, sounded more but felt like it was slower on the high rpms...

But I've used Blitz induction cover w/o tune and it surprised me big time when I realized I got way much more power between 1800-4000 rpm and still giving it some more all the way to the redline.

Probably can give it 27 hp if you already replaced everything else (exhaust, intercooler or what is needed to replace on the X to get it faster) and also are getting a tune with the filter, but it sounds a bit to much. Perhaps on a dynojet, but I wouldn't go around saying I have more power then stock if I changed it

But hey that's just me, I feel better when I'm outrunning (or keeping up with) someone after saying it's stock (though it isn't), then braging about a lots of mods and being left in the dust

But get a drop in filter, gets a deeper tone then a cone filter. More of a rally sound and not the throuty "ricer sound". You will notice the difference of tone between the 2, I did even if I had a straight pipe with only a 5" silencer. Sounded really bad but got even worse with the cone filter. Now I have a real exhaust system, sure I loose a hp or 2(cause of extra bends and a real silencer..), or perhaps 10 but it sounds awesome! Everything around you vibrates cause of the deep tone

Well....it depends how you look at it...

On a true stock car with no other mods, those numbers may be correct. The filter is leaning out the air/fuel mixture, therefore creating more power. It's not really the filter making the power, but is an indirect result of the filter being added...

If were to tune the car with the stock filter, and tune the the car with a drop-in filter, you will probably only get 5hp, maybe 10 difference.

In short....before a tune, it may be worth 20+hp, after a tune its probably only worth 5-10hp.

If what you're saying here is accurate, getting the drop-in filter without getting a tune is dangerous. Sounds like you will be running too lean in the AFR. Although, I have heard that the stock AFR is way too rich. At the same time, I'd never want to risk running too lean and melting my pistons.

This is not an issue on the stock tune. Hundreds of people are running drop in filters with no problems. The stock tune is definilty way too rich and the filter alone will only lean it out .3 - .7 points at the most.

I run a works drop in filter in my x... not sure about those numbers, but I would say it has increased response and power than stock (thats a given). Its a good filter, and its reusable unlike the HKS ones.

I believe on their website, it is 18hp and 13tq...

Right, on the stock tune it is ok. But if you get a tune, and then put a filter on afterwards, that is where you might run into problems.

Moral of the story...put parts on, then get tuned. Don't put parts on AFTER you get tuned. Or get retuned, after you put the new parts on.
