check engine light

does anyone know if putting on a test pipe on my evo x will put on my check engine light
?

it can. some test pipes are built so that it doesn't happen (UR tp comes to mind). but even if it does throw a cel, there are ways to turn it off.

If you buy a testpipe without a CEL fix, all you need to do is buy spark plug anti-foulers and drill one out with a 1/2" drill bit. You then put that on the o2 sensor. Next, you put the other anti-fouler on top, then screw the whole thing in where the secondary o2 sensor would go.

The purpose of the secondary sensor is to basically tell your ecu that there is a cat on the car. The defouler only allows so much of the exhaust gas to reach the sensor, therefore making it think there's still a cat on the car.

heck yeah man im gonna order the UR tp next week ...my buddys got one on his X and said it didnt throw a CEL...i reckon its your best bet for no annoying lights

I have the AMS one and did that for $4. You can do it with any test pipe.

it deffinately works i did it yesterday morning and took my car to the shop and got them to clear the code. it hasnt come on again! thanks a ton guys!
