BAD BAD BAD Front CV axles
well i agree on caliper shift causing a single or a small burst of clicks but it was a constant click when at full lock and it didn't matter whether it was just at start up or after i had driven all day. Namely i noticed it in the morning as well as when i was driving up my parking garage after my commute home from work. Its CV's. However J5isalive2 is correct that caliper shift is a similar sound.
people who say they hear this when backing up and then going forward...... its your brake rotors, when you brake when in reverse is shifts your rotors to the one side of the lug nuts which makes a POP....then again when you brake again in 1st gear and u get the same pop....don't confuse this pop with the CV joint
I've already taken out the transaxle and and transfer case and I've arranged to have it sent to Jack's Transmissions.
I have a friend who is certain it's the center diff. But the guy at Jack's said it sounded like it might be front diff (in transfer case), so I'm sending them both units.
Also getting my front sway bar and timing chain done while I'm in there
