It is good to 700whp. It is good enough for your 450whp.

As with any clutch, it will depend on your driving style and skill. It very well could last you years if you are a skilled driver.
Any downfalls to this clutch? PN to the one you're talking about? I'm looking to buy soon. I'm so nervous about buying an act clutch though.

There are really not any downfalls. The pedal effort is light. The friction coefficient is greater which is why a stiff left leg pressure plate is not required to hold 650+tq.

It is a TTP proprietary clutch.

The RPS has a light pedal and is street able, except don't side step the clutch pedal with the carbon twin, it won't slip. It will spin the tires or leave broken transmission pieces behind you!

It seems like there are so many opinions regarding clutches. Don't know which to go with.

Dude go for the HKS twin plate clutch. The kit also comes with a lightweight flywheel. they also have a triple plate clutch. check their website. and trust me you can't go wrong with HKS

It comes down to what you're mostly using the car for. My car is daily driven so to me, street driveability comes first and foremost. The last thing I want is a clutch with a heavy pedal or that can't easily be slipped while driving in traffic.

I'm liking the TTP spec ACT clutch, and that's what I'll probably go with.

Very good clutch. Lasted 60k miles. 400lbft of torque. Maybe 4 events a year...

A heavy pedal effort will break the master cylinder, leaving you with NO CLUTCH AT ALL as you will not be able to depress it and you'll rack up a few hundred + in repairs at the dealer. A dealer in which you will have to TOW the car to since the clutch will be unable to be depressed, rendering the car undriveable.

It sounds like the ACT HD pressure plate with a street disc is probably a good option for a street driven car with the occasional track day thrown in. Seems like this setup is least likely to split the master cylinder...anyone have insight on this?

yeah my thoughts on clutches ( my silver evo 8 is sponsered by exedy and i run their triples ) but i love them and was thinking of using their twin in my X OR maybe even trying out the new spec twins. we put one in a 350z turbo and its been great for him. Other inexpensive option is the stage 2 singe disc exedy.

go with the best and get the Exedy Multiplate. If your going to spend the money on the labor might as well do it right the first time. The X is not a fun clutch replacement so you wont want to do it again and again. I have been running the Exedy Multiplate for about 3k miles and have been very happy on the street and track

EXEDY multiplate has blown master cylinders. If you don't want to be stranded with a few hundred in repairs only to break it over and over again, stick with an HD singledisc with light pedal effort.
