clutch?

Just noticed if I get on it (not flooring it but about halfway)between 2500 and 4000 rpm's the RPM's jump up about 1000 then drop down around 300RPM's. Is this my clutch going out? It does it in every gear in the same RPM range.

Do you have a GSR or MR?

If GSR...

There have been one or two reports of the rear main seals going and oil get's on the clutch which makes it seem as though the clutch is on it's way out. Best bet is go to the dealer and get it checked out.

Good luck!

I'm betting clutch. Mine does the same exact thing. I have a new Exedy Stage 2 Clutch on the way.

Well it goes to the stealership Wednesday and we'll see what they say. I'm sure they'll deny it since I gave then so much crap over the paint chips. And I'll be talking to an attorney tomorrow about that, but thats a different story.

Just sounds like clutch slip, but you can always have them check the rear main just to be safe.

You can start any car moving if you just slip it enough. If it isn't glazed before it could be after!

no my clutch i didn't slip at all when trying to start off in fourth...the point is to not slip it and see what happens. if it stalls then still good and if it goes (without slipping) then you should order a new clutch asap

I've driven manual for 15 years and have never had any problems with a clutch in the past. If it is the clutch slipping what is done to correct it? New clutch or what?

Clutch is slipping and dealer wants $1720 for a new installed clutch. Another OEM clutch...not going to happen. Open to suggestions. And on a tight budget.

Look underneath your car, and see if you can find any oil leaks where the engine butts up with the transmission. If so, your rear main seal is leaking oil causing your clutch to slip. It happened to me..
