nope; not anymore. it's fine now.

i'll just reiterate though - MR folks won't have this problem on cruise. it's just the GSR with the short 5th gear that makes the exhaust groan and moan. the droning isn't very loud to be honest, it's very slight. but i carry old people around as a DD on weekends (family gatherings and such) so i try my best to accommodate.

How many resonators did you put on? Who makes these resonators? The reason I asked is my MR has the droning problems with Perrin CBE. I

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, yes, I still have my stock cat on. With the cat, it doesn't drone at all, at any rpm or speed, and is really not that much louder than stock..

My last car was a v6 eclipse with a flowmaster muffler and gutted cats (both pre-cats and the main cat), I definitely did not want a repeat of that ruckus.

As for the other question, here's a picture I just took, the perspective is slightly angled closer to the tip side, but you should be able to tell that they're close enough in size to not really matter. Also, it looks like I have a slight exhaust leak

^^^ i was gonna say it's not an exhaust leak, because those clamps don't do a very good job of keeping carbon droplets from forming and leaking out. but that cloudy mess does look like a leak to me. i used an impact wrench and bolted it down real good.

two vibrant performance bottle type resonators. you really need just one, but i can fit in two so i figured "why not."

Was going to consider this exhaust, but wondered if anyone else is having this issue shown here?

I removed the bottle-neck and tig-welded a full 3" pipe and flange

Yikes-anyone else with this problem?
Most exhausts of this design have the midpipe connection at the back of the can. Seems a much cleaner way to do it, especially if there is any carbon build-up/leakage etc. - just me?

^^^ i wonder if you can buy those silicon gasket sealant things and kinda grout around the pipe before inserting the other one and clampling it down to make a better seal.

If I run into this problem I would juts make sure it fits right and is lined up properly then get it welded all the way around.

installed mine yesterday...i'll try to put up a vid when i get a chance.
definitely good quality. packaged well...and fitment is excellent.
has a nice quiet rumble and idle and cruising is just a tad bit, if not the same as stock.
butt dyno impressions definitely make it feel like it pulls a lot better going thru all gears. i'm very happy with this exhaust. i stuck with keeping the 2.5" bottle neck for now since i don't have a test pipe yet. i will get it replaced with a 3" flange and install my xtremeboost o2/dp external dump when i get my test pipe (planning on ur mini muffler test pipe to relieve the loudness).

None so far. I noticed that too but I guess there is plenty clearance there. I think it's just the way the bend on the pipe looks. Coz other exhausts I've seen shows low at that same area

i think it only looks low because the pipe curves and goes up to the exhaust muffler at the same time because the muffler is tucked in behind the bumper as you can see...so you're seeing where the pipe bends and then goes up to the muffler part. coz you can see how it's level from the stock cat on towards the bend.

I got this installed before I went on vacation. Now that I'm back, a review:

FREAKING AWESOME!!! Me and a friend installed it. It was the first mod I've ever did to any of my cars and it was easy mode. It took 2 hours, and we are complete noobs at this sorta thing. I did use my dad's tools at his shop and his jackstands.

No vibration from what I can tell and it was really easy to get it lined up perfectly.

The sound: in the inside it is barely louder than stock, but it is definitely louder. I think it's actually louder at 10-35 MPH than on the highway. It has a deep rumble to it rather than the tinny-sound that some exhausts have. You can feel the bass rumble when it's idling!

Unfortunately I haven't had anyone drive it away from me yet so I can't give a good gauge of what it's like on a drive-by, but it's not obnoxious at all (like my old SRT-4), and I think it's even quieter than the Mazdaspeed 3.

The car feels smoother now as well. I am a little OCD about how my car feels, and I honestly think it feels slightly faster than before. It almost feels like a bottleneck has been removed.

If you are looking for a mature sounding, unobtrusive CBE, this if your kit.
