AMS FRT MOTOR MOUNT 70a (STREET)

1st) THE SWITCH
I installed this about 2 days ago.. i bought the mount alone and hacked the stock rubber piece to slide this one in.. imo it was a pain in the *** to switch but having done it i think i can do it twice as fast next time hahaha..

2nd) THE INSTALL!!!
The bolts were easy to get off and put on but sliding the mount assembly was uber tight i had to slide a flat head in there to use leverage to open up the bracket.. then once i got it in sliding it in position wasnt easy either..

3rd) THE RATTLE!!!
Its noticable after your car is warmed up..(for those people that take their car thru a drive-thru to get a burger and the line is long..the rattl might annoy you.. well @ least it would annoy me) also im one of those people that revs low in order to go from a stop.. when the clutch engages it shakes the cabin haha

4th) THE DRIVE!!
Im in love with what this mount did..shifting feels about 60% smoother.. for some crazy reason i feel that my car has more torque..i think its due to the engine not swinging back.. i love the way it feel while driving <3

If your one of those people that complain about a little rattle from the glove box this mod might not be for you..
This makes my drive more enjoyable =)

so, i'm still a bit baffled. how come the front mount would aid the notchy shifting? what does it actually fix in relation to that?

and i don't think ams' web site says it, but i'm assuming black is 70a and red is 90a.

it doesnt feel smooth as butter to me... but its deff smotther than before.. plus u get a way better driving experience

yeaah 70a is black and 90a is red

i think someone mentioned this before but.. when i used to shift from 1st to 2nd if i would do it too fast it would feel rough so i would put it in 2nd slow sort of with a pause..
and now i can shift fast into 2nd without such a grind..

this was just a one day driving experience i havent driven it since.. <<<FYI

Can we get a confirmation on which is which? I have the red bushing. I bought my front roll stopper (motor mount) from AMS back in Sept/Oct which (I thought) was when only the 70A bushing was available for the X. I mean, right on if I have the 90A bushing, but I'd like to know for sure in case I ever decide to swap it out.

Red - Track - 90a
BLK - Street - 70a

Anyone using the AMS front crossmember? Was wondering if that had similar results and driveablity.

How would a front cross member help shifting? It's purpose was always to lighten up the front.

I foresee the welds cracking eventually on these. The stock crossmember with mount will be more sturdy than this from AMS. Plus there is no bracing where that mount is mounted to that piece of pipe. There will be more flex at that point and the welds will be stressed.

I say its not more than for show or to have everything AMS. I mean you get better results just changing the front mount.

Good points ... there may be a question of durability with this piece. Not sure the potential benefits outway the costs. Thx.

Glad someone tried this out. I thought it may help, but AMS said it wouldn't. Read this thread with my questions and comments.
