I just ordered the bushings for the front mount and both sides, as well as the underhood shifter bushings. I also ordered some Amsoil MTG. I will have it all installed within a couple of weeks

I already have the TWM shifter and shifter base bushings, but want things even tighter and more direct, and I definitely won't mind a little vibration. I will report back if the vibration is unbearable...

i installed my front mount and changed the oil to amsoil mtg.

wow the drain plug magnet was CLOGGED with shrapnel. the shop owner who i'm borrowing the lift from was asking if i was power shifting...when the whole time i was GRANNY shifting to avoid the notchy feel

the mount took all of two minutes to install. it's just dropping the entire undercover that's a real pain. after the install, it's noticeably smoother, but i suspect i need to break it in because i still have grinding when the car isn't warmed up or i'm not pushing it hard enough.

the vibration though...i hope it softens soon, because it's starting to get to me. it causes my dash rattle to be as audible as my stereo, which is ridiculous. and the vibration itself may be a bit brutal for those that does mostly local driving. again, i hope it softens in the long term, because at this rate, i don't know if i want to deal with the vibrations.

if there are inserts instead of full replacements like the ams ones, i would guess the vibration wouldn't be as bad.

Has your dash rattle quieted down at all since installation? What does it sound like, and does it do it all the time or just when you're idling?

I'll be getting the bushings replaced on the front and both sides next week. I want it to be more raw, but I'm starting to get a little worried!

Just get the 70A durometer not the 90A that everyone sells online.

it's softened a little, hopefully it will soften a bit more. you can feel the vibrations down to your teeth, that's all i can tell you.

so what did you have the street and then bought the race for autocross? If so how is the comparison in the smoothness of the tranny and the difference in the vibes?

thanks!

Justed installed the AMS red (race) front bushing. Now I feel a LOT of vibration at idle... rattles....

And it's not gotten rid of the shifter clunkiness, but it does seem to have made on-power shifting a bit smoother.

Damn, looks like i'm passing on that -- the car has a bone jarring enough ride already.

I've got the TWM shirtshifter and bushings and that is an awesome set up. The motor mount is seriously only for a serious track car. I installed mine and as a daily it was horrific. Not worth it at all

it does help a lot with power shifts...but like you said, normal shifting...still feels clunky.

I have about 7500 miles and have had issues since day one with cumbersome gear changes and clunkiness/grinding from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. I installed a TWM short shifter and console bushings a few thousand miles ago and that helped a bit.

Yesterday I got the fluid changed to Amsoil MTG, put in the AMS under hood bushings and AMS motor mounts (front and both sides). The slop in the shifter is pretty much gone, as well as the clunkiness/grinding. Everything is so much more direct and smooth. The tradeoff is a good amount of vibration in the cabin - the dash, the wheel, the clutch pedal - everything vibrates a good deal when idling. When the clutch engages in first gear to take off, if you do it slow and slip the clutch at all the whole dash vibrates even more. Makes the car feel (and sound) like a racecar. When accelerating, so much more engine noise is transmitted into the cabin. At highway speeds in 5th gear, if you touch the gas the car responds like it's in 3rd. Feels much more powerful.

As for now, the vibrating doesn't bother me - I actually quite like it in fact. My wife has yet to ride in the car with the changes, so she may not agree. Time will tell. And it seems like it may get quieter as the bushings break in - it was MUCH louder and vibrated MUCH more yesterday just after the install than it did this morning...

I know I sound like a broken record, but...

I too have the TWM short shifter and consol bushings, they alone helped a lot, but I recently intalled their weighted shift ball as well (1.07 lb), and the car shifts even easier now. Next up will be the Works hybrid underhood shifter bushings.

some people can tolerate the vibration from motor mounts more than others. also, the longer you have them the more tolerable they become.

I'm gonna try the TWM SS and bushings before anything, i used to have solid mounts on my RSX and I'm trying to avoid that this time around

I just bought the BLOX Racing front engine roll stopper for the X. It has rating of 90A polyurethane setup pre-pressed in their mount setup. Got it for $89 shipped. The reason why I went w/ BLOX was because I used the same setup on my IX and it eliminated the notchy shifter feel on it. I will do a review as soon as I get the front engine roll stopper for the X installed.
