Is it a good idea to be bracing the turbo to a solid surface? I forsee bracing it to the solid surface will put unneeded stress on the manifold when the engine shifts under heavy acceleration.

Perhaps this brace is temporary as you progress through the build.

Everything looks great other than the brace!

That brace is just there to hold the turbo in place so we could make the manifold. The actual turbo support brace will be bolted to the transmission.

damn im soooo glad to see this. i was just talking with my best friend the other day about someone doing this soon and bam you guys hook it up. what numbers are you looking for? (spool times, peak power, peak torque, egt's, and so on) what turbo will be used for the preliminary testing, and are you planning on selling this manifold separate to create a wide span of turbos to install by the customers preference? sorry to be so inquisitive but im just excited.

edit: looks like a GT3582 on there now, i guess thats what you guys are going for? if so will you build one for a 37R?

The brace is obviously temporary. It's a real ***** to tig weld while holding up a 30 lb turbo with your porksword. I just built a new setup for a T6 that weighs 50 lbs, what a ***** that is to work with.

I've also installed turbos on K motors and while it looks scary, nothing melts if you protect everything properly even when daily driven hard.

Looks good Keith, post pics when it's finished.
