Eneos 0w-50?
Eneos 0w-50?
so i watched this video on you tube....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmDRXmKk9m8 they used a 0W-50 in his evo X........and gained 7-10hp over another leading japanese brand.
so my question is...
1. Can we use a 0W-50 weighted oil in our X's?
2. If so does this have any other benifits besides the hp gain?
3. Will using this weight oil, regardless of brand, hurt our cars in any way?
4. Is this video total B.S.?

I was actually invited to do this test for my EVO X last year. There seems be a steady growth in these oil companies in last few years. And they all seem to market their products like this.
I think it's silly to get more horsepower using these oils. I say buy the ones you trust to protect your baby. I like to use AMS oil on all my cars that I track, because they seem to resist breaking down on high heat.

if you want power for your car, get power mods.
you dont need to be looking for oils to give you power, oil's are not power adders, oil's should be strictly to make sure your engine is protected

im not looking for power...it just happens to be a plus..........but im more refering to the 0W-50 weight. I currently use amsoil 0W-30......any advantages to 0W-50?

the first number in the oils weight is the cold temp viscosity, the last number is the hot viscosity, the big difference in the numbers means that it is good for cold starts (the 0) and running hot (the 50) and eneos is proven to be awesome anyways!

you mean companies that put their resources in advertising, instead of doing some hard core engineering to come up with a better oil.
