AGP Intercooler Installed with Review
AGP Intercooler Installed with Review
I bought this a week or so ago from Ben at AGP, they were having a sale with unbeatable prices. I got the intercooler today and installed it when I got home from work in about 2 hours or so.
Install
The install went fairly smooth, I used the bumper removal out of the DIY area, took me about 15 minutes to get it off. Pulling the old intercooler off was pretty painless, i took off one of the rubber hanger mounts on the passenger side and it made pulling out the old IC and putting the new one in much easier. My only problem with installing the new IC was the coupler that goes to the LICP, it just didnt seem long enough for the job, I have it on there but with abosolutely no room to spare. I am keeping some tools in my back seat in case it blows off, I also pointed the clip screws towards the splash shield so I can get to them without taking off the bumper.
I also went ahead and painted the power steering line behind the bumper black. I am really happy with that, cleaned up the front a lot.
Quality
The intercooler itself looks solidly built with nice quality. My only complaints with this kit were the worm clamps that came with it, wish I had been given the option for Tbolts when I ordered, if I had known they weren't tbolts I would of asked. The other thing was the coupler for the LICP like I mentioned above.
Performance
Not too much on this yet, I only went for a test drive to make sure I wouldnt blow a coupler before work tomorrow
I could notice some extra power up top, but I need to give the ECU some time to adjust from the reset to check AFRs. I really wanted to get the FMIC on before I get a tune, now if I could just get an appointment at CBRD I would be set :O
