200 bucks is alot i would just go with UR i hear good things about all the products! but u can't go wrong with ams! see if u can find performance gains sheets with either one, and then go from there..

as the saying says...you get what you pay for. AMS is top quality on everything they put out, hence why they are usually more money. Theres nothing wrong with UR but for me, I would rather have a cast dp with optimal flow

The AMS unit is more because they have to recoup their costs of R&D for the cast bellmouth. The dang pipe took a year to develop( why a year I dont know), so they gotta get that money spent back by charging more.

Were are you seeing the UR o2/dp for $250. It is listed at $350 on their website and the ams one is $450. But I would think they allare similiar in gains and if there is a difference it would be so small it wouldn't warrant the additional $100.

You're comparing apples to oranges. You're comparing an o2 housing downpipe with a standard downpipe. There is a difference. The difference between the like parts is merely 100 bucks.

UR has 2 downpipes... a short and a long one... The long one eliminates the o2 housing. The short one does not. At least that's what I thought...

I have the UR O2 DP. It decreased spool time and made power everwhere. Great product!

Pros and Cons of AMS and UR

AMS Pros

1. True bell mouth design, ultimate in flow

2. No welds to break, AMS is cast

3. Ultimate in quality and R&D

AMS Cons

1. Price

UR Pros

1. Price

2. Good quality

UR Cons

1. Its all welded which could lead to cracks and breakage, I believe goofygrin has one and a couple of welds cracked, he got them fixed and everything seems ok

2. Not a true bell mouth design, the O2 and the dump have thier own pipes to exit in, then they combine into one pipe roughly 6 inches later, not the best in flow

Bottom line, they might perform roughly the same, but without a doubt, in my opinion, the AMS is the better choice, IF, you can shell out the extra 100-200 bucks. If not, I'm sure the UR will be just fine. And yes, they are a pain in the a** to install, thats why I will be hiring Evolution Dynamics here in Dallas to install mine. My weekends are too valuable to be spending 8-12 hours installing a O2/Downpipe.
