Getting buncha stuff, need lil advice/opinion/direction..

Hey guys(and gals)..I was one of the unfortunate ones who had their trannys break on them and not get covered thru mitsu for it..long story short im sending out my stuff to shep and getting it worked on..im also buying new clutch and some other minor things too...the performance stuff i have now on the car is: TBE, AEM Intake, upper and lower IC Piping, Cobb AP..the clutch i was looking at is the Spec Stg 2+ and also getting the AMS clutch line and AMS MC reinforcement ring...my overall goal wit the car is to have a DD wit 500/500 whp/wtg(ill sacrifice some driveability for it)..right after i re-break my car in im throwing in cams(stg 1)/front mount/injectors/fuel work..id like to go wit 1000's bc down the road not tooo far away im thinking bout throwin in an FP Red or something comparable..will having the 1000's before going upgraged turbo actually hurt the car or will it be ok? i dun wanna buy 800's then a few months later swap them for 1000's if it aint necesary(i know they wouldnt be used to their full potential)..and also is there anything else i should think bout looking into wit the setup im going for now?? I now call about the mods and gods of this site to enlighten me lol..

paragraphs man... makes it easier to read.

I'd buy the 1000's now (InjectedPerformance has a good sale on here right now). You'll also need a new fuel pump to push those. You'll need a new fuel pump housing to run the fuel pump. HBSpeed and UltimateRacing both offer kits.

Think about getting a short shifter from TWM. Makes a big difference in feel. Also, lots of power without handling (sway bars, springs/coilovers) and brakes (pads at the very least, maybe upgraded rotors too) is pretty scary.

Heh sorry about the sloppiness...Yea I plan on getting either Works or TWM's SS kit and their console bushings also. I do have BC's coilovers sitting in my room and am just waiting to put them on. You are def right bout the brake upgrades; didnt think bout that.

I just needed some heads-up from a few people only because I am going to drop a few thousand dollars here and just wanna be on the safe side if anything..

-Thank You Sir!

(anyone else got any light to shed lol?)

Think of what you want to do with the car. Do you just want a fast street car? Are you going to race at the track? Where did you get the 500whp/500ft lbs numbers? Have you thought about how hard it would be to reach that goal? People often pull arbitrary numbers like that out of no where and have no idea how much time, money, headache, etc. it would take to achieve their goals.

Thinking about what injectors to get is the least of your worries right now. There are way more supporting mods to think off at those power levels. Goofygrin hit on some of them.

Hey, I know this whole thing aint gonna take a week or two to do..Im just saying by the time I am done with the car I'd like to be around those numbers. I'm really not gonna track the car so I guess yea I'd just like to roll around in a beast on the streets if anything. I just average what a bunch of other X's have done to their cars wit the numbers theyre making and make a "scrap list" of things that would have to be done/should be done etc.. I know time and money are a part of all this.

Like I said before I just wanna be safe and thats why I made this thread so all you guys can throw ur .02 in and I appreciate it..

Your dealer isn't Mitsu, perse. They are kind of like a medical doctor and your insurance company is the Mitsu warranty...the dealer will install whatever you want. It's just likely that you could get it done for less at a performance shop. It is also a good idea to develop a relationship with a shop (because Mitsu is gonna void your warranty soon enough. haha)

Take it from a guy who bought a bunch of stuff he didn't need...there's no need for fueling upgrades on stock turbo if you are running pump gas. The stock injectors are 650's and stock pumps in the X are quite good (there's a thread about this on here somewhere).

Getting to 500 requires a big turbo (stock-sized turbos won't get you there, regardless of fuel). That means head studs, rod bolts, a fair bit of work if you want it to stay together long-term. Anybody over 500hp right now is testing motor longevity for the rest of us (rod bolts go first...we'll see what comes second).

Unless you have better mitsu service than I do I wouldn't let mitsu do a thing. I had a tranny at 1143 miles, ive had clutch issues since then/before then and then they didn't align my car so within 2000 or so miles my tires were wearing in a bad pattern and at 8000 i had to have new tires, still had clutch problems.

I still notch and grind, obviously not as bad, and yes mitsu paid to put my tranny in. I am in Charleston WV and am looking at taking my car to Cincinnati or Columubus to be repaired. Mitsu in Chas. wants 2100 to put in my clutch and they want to replace the fly wheel, nothing about resurfacing or whatever.

I need a clutch now and dont know what to put in it. I drive it daily and regularly about 25 miles or so a day, basically just to work. I dont launch to often, nor race very often.
