PAY THE MONEY and get someone else to do it. Save yourself from the headaches, the yelling, the screaming, the cussing, and the first aid kit. 200-300 bucks is well worth it. Plus, if you take it to a reputable shop who had performed the installation before, they could probably get it done within 4 hours.

These guys have given solid advice. Experience, and possibly a lift are the most valuable tools for this job. I have one OT question for those who have completed the install: were you able to reatain the stock heat sheilds for o2?

I was trying to not be a little girl about it all; I've worked on my Type-R a lot, but this sounds a lot more involved than anything on that car.

HBSpeed - I'm going to be out your way to have you guys tune it anyway on 11/20. What if I come out sooner and get you to install the AMS kit? How much for the full exhaust install (kit here: http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...st-System.html). You can PM me if you want.

Not only does it allow the retention of the stock heat shield, it also has a casted mounting bung to support the shield as opposed to it just hanging on by the bungs on the exhaust manifold.

Tools I used:
Large Socket Wrench
Medium Socket Wrench
Small Socket Wrench
Assortment of metric and hex fittings for the above
1 can of PB blaster
A lot of Stress relieving words
Take your time, PB blaster everything once engine is cold or almost cold, let sit for at least an hour, especially the 02 sensors, I basically threaded mine by forcing it to back out.
I'm 19 and tackled the job in about 6 hours alongside the testpipe, did NOT break ANY bolts, look up my tips in the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain Section, they will help you figure out how to get the bolts out.
