This is what we have found on the X.

3.0" = 12whp over stock / No Tuning
3.5" = 18whp over stock / No Tuning
4.0" = 22whp over stock / No Tuning

I highly recommend the 4.0" intercooler even if your on the stock turbocharger. The intercooler from the factory on the X is very restricive and hinders flow.

The LICP on the X won't make a huge difference, the only real benefit will be the removal of the stock rubber hoses which expand and contract under throttle. This may give you better throttle response and reliability down the rubber by replacing it, but as a noticeable performance gain? not so much.

The upper pipe on the X is the pipe coming off the turbocharger. This pipe reduces down to less then 2.0" by replacing it with a 2.5" pipe you will notice a difference as well as throttle response.

The best bang for the buck mod on the X seems to be an intercooler. We did get a pretty good gain with our Intake and boost Controller (56whp over stock w/ no tuning)

We have tested our intake with several other units on the market and ours flat out makes the most power. We use a 5.0" filter which most people use a 3.0" - The ETS MAF adapter is a work of art when it comes to intakes.

If you have any questions, let us know how we can help you!

Thanks,

Michael

Well I guess I was wrong with my opinion lol.. oh well I learned something new.

So will a 4" intercooler hurt throttle response even if you have soild charge pipes? I am just wondering because it will be a lot bigger then factory.

Nope, no loss in throttle response

Typically a "right sized" intercooler would be smaller to limit pressure drops while being able to cool sufficiently but because the turbo in the X is in the back near the firewall it retains heat. I forget the numbers but a stock X turbo runs hotter than a 8 or 9 turbo mounted in the front. A larger intercooler helps with the hotter inlet temps and that's why you see a better gain with a larger larger ic than a smaller upgraded one in the X. Plus it really helps with road racing to keep heat soak at bay.

Wow this is really good info. I'll keep this in mind when I'm shopping for an intercooler.

You know it! The intercooler will work with stock piping no problem!

Thanks!
