Boost Problem

I installed a Prosport Boost Gauge and a Hallman Boost Controller. I keep the boost controller turned all the way down to keep the boost at stock psi. The car ran great, no problems, boosted peaked at 21-22psi. Toke the car to the dealership to get a Exedy Stage 2 HD Clutch installed ans take care of the recalls. Got the car back today. It runs good but boost is peaking at 13-14psi. I did a quick check on the vaccum lines, everything looks good. Call the dealership, they said they didnt do anything that would effect the boost.

Any advice on what I can do to get the car back to stock boost?

Get rid of the MBC... the EVO X doesn't need it.

Toke your advice. Toke off the MBC. Drove it around, boost gauge is still peaking at 13-14psi. The car is not feeling weak. So Im guessing its the gauge itself.

When its idling, the gauge reads 17-18 inHg. I had the factory boost gauge in my 02 WRX and I beleive it sat at 0 while idling. Is the gauge suppose to read 0 while idling? If so, is there anyway to fix the gauge without replacing it?

The vacuum should read between 18-21 mmHg @ vacuum for these cars.

If "might" be the gauge. Do you have ECUFLASH and OP2 cable?

Best way is to check what the only board sensor is reading, not what a boost gauge reads.

I dont ECUFLASH or OP2 cable.

When I first installed the gauge it would peak at 21-22psi. After I got it back from the dealership today is when the gauge would peak at 13-14psi.

"take care of the recalls" huh...

your dealer might have took off the uicp for the fuel line recall. might want to check for pinhole leaks.

my guess is they installed the pill hose backwards

chances are that the pill is on the wastegate side instead of the turbo outlet side

i mean on the couplers. there was a story here where after a recall the dealer didn't tighten the coupler back on correctly and it popped off on boost. it may or may not be your case, but doesn't hurt to check as it's relatively easy to do.

Put the MBC back on. Still peaking at 13-14psi. Im going to take it off again and let the computer control the boost. Ill make sure to put the boost pill back in.

One more question. Will having the little filter that comes with the Prosport Boost Gauge in effect it at all? I currently have it in.

Thanks for the advice.

Took the MBC off, put boost pill back in. Still boost gauge is peaking at 15psi. All vaccum lines are good. All couplers are tight. Would flipping the the hose the boost pill is in help? I done everything I could think of.
