big bang ?

big bang ?

EVO X MR
test pipe catback upper tbc tuned
my problem is when i go smooth like 50% shifting at 3500 to 4000 1 throw 3 and then wot on 4 th or 5 i get a big bang
the car feels like if i hit something and goes good again ,with a big puff of black smoke
i checked all my sparkplug and i measured the gap nothing seems wrong , and its been doing this for a little while now so gas isnt a question ..
thanks i need help is this normal

btw i was tuned at 20 c and high humi...
right now its around -8c
over boosting ....?????

Damn, I don't know...
So youre experiencing a massive backfire, in 4th and 5th gear. Does this happen at partial or Wide Open Throttle?

Boost Cut due to over boost i would say.
As for the ruff idle you may have blown of a vacuum hose.
Like the one that goes to the fuel reg

Check your intake, UICP, LICP clamps, you may have a leak somewhere.

another thing ive always had oil coming from the top of my turbo , inbetween the upper and the turbo..???

That is definitely a BAD thing!
you should check your UICP and intercooler to see if they're full of oil. Sounds like a blown turbo seal

You run a Turbo Back Exhaust? I've had this happen as well with my MR. Herd it actually is common, has something to do with - degree in timing between shifts with the MR...

Ask Bryan@GST (or if you could chime in Bryan it would be greatly appreciated) about it, he explained it to me why MR's will do it every now and then.

I take you dont have a boost gauge in your car? If not then that should be your next purchase.
