Need advice w/ EBCS

So Im not too far away from getting a tune, and Ive been debating with myself about getting or not getting an EBCS. As far as desired hp/tq, Im not putting a number on it, but Im not looking for anything crazy. Just a nice, smooth, fairly quick DD. Mods before the tune: TBE - Intake - IC piping. Im familiar with what the EBCS does, but Im not really looking to increase the boost values all that much.... maybe to 23-24 peak psi tapering to 19-20. So my question is, will the stock solenoid be tunable enough to achieve these number, or should I just spend the $100 and get the Perrin EBCS?

If your tuner is familiar with them then I would. Regardless of what boost you decide to hold, the EBCS will hold it more precisely than your other options.

What do you mean "other options"..... meaning the stock ebcs?

Mainly he means an MBC as "other options". Don't go this route, trust me.

Oh no way.... def not going MBC. That would be a down-grade, even from stock.

An MBC or EBC that isn't ECU-based. I've never understood why someone would use an external EBC--I just assume that they had them left over from other cars.

One of my local tuners doesn't like EBCS...he just pulls the boost pill and tightens the wastegate actuator.

I have the Perrin.
