ETS. Just because JDM is 10x more expensive does not mean it performs better.

Yes. I don't remember what brand, but I remember a few people having problems with the intercooler "ballooning" from high boost....

JDM trash.

Hey Guys while we are putting up specs, I will go ahead and throw in our .02 cents

The AMS Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X Front Mount Intercooler is a direct bolt on utilizing your stock piping and mounting points with purpose built cast end tanks for the Evolution 10. This intercooler has over 80% more internal flow area than its stock counterpart. Our stock Evolution 10 gained 10 Wheel horsepower over the stock core just by bolting it on, without even re-tuning the ECU!

We tested many intercooler cores before finding the best performing core available. The bar and plate style core is 12.4" tall, 20" wide and 3.5" thick flowing 1250 cfm. This is the same durable, race proven intercooler core we used on our record setting Time Attack EVO, proven efficient to 751 whp

Exclusive Features

* Direct factory replacement with NO cutting or trimming required
* Adds 10 whp WITHOUT re-tuning the ECU
* 80% more flow area over stock
* Bolts right up to the stock piping
* Utilizes the factory intercooler hangers along with added supports
* Cast end tanks for smoother more efficient air flow
* UNLIKE OTHER AFTERMARKET INTERCOOLERS, the AMS unit incorporates an angled inlet just like the factory for a proper fit with the intercooler piping
* All AMS intercoolers are pressure tested after assembly to 50 psi

Specifications

* 12.4" tall, 20" wide (32" with end tanks and bracket) and 3.5" thick
* 1250 cfm flow and only 1 psi pressure drop at 650 whp

Options

* Available with or without an AMS logo stenciled on the core

Please PM me for pricing and shipping

I'm loving those cast tanks with the weld on pipe ends.

ARC also makes one for our cars. Their radiators and intercoolers tend to be the most expensive of all brands for most cars. Any advantage to the ARC intercooler?

ARC is light. It also has shaped "air guides" per layer. I *think* you will find it has LESS heat capacity than the 3.5" and 4" ETS/AMS/whoever else IC so on a long, hot track day, you might be better off with ETS/AMS/Perrin/PPI/whoever else. I'd guess this is a little geography dependent too.

Now, as for the Blitz. Does ANYONE have a good picture of it? I've seen tiny pictures of it and it looks like it has a logarithmically tapering end-tanks which I think would produce better usage of the core overall. (At least from what I can "simulate" as a thought experiment using basic fluid dynamic principles.) But, I freely admit I could be completely wrong. Anyone with this kind of engineering background want to chime in here?

I think the other thing that separates the Blitz from other aftermarket IC is that it uses Tube + Fin as opposed to Bar + Plate design...there's some debate there too but I'm not going to go into that. Google will tell you much of what you need to know.
