Your loosing a little over 5.25 lbs of rotating mass that would be worth it to me.

That alone might net you 1-2% less drivetrain lost. Then again I am pulling that number outa my ***.

i will definetly be buying one. I've ridden in my brothers STi that had the OEM swapped with a single piece carbon.. WELL worth the money. it was like adding cams on my evo! well maybe not quite as much.. but you get the idea.. it is definetly faster as far as what I could feel.. and after installing it, i was not convinced at all that the driveshaft would do anything. so there was no bias.. but I do know that if i can feel the difference.. the car is goign faster.

The cost on the 8 and 9 aluminum driveshafts are 750... being that the ones from drivshaftshop are the same cost for the 8,9,X, then this one should be about the same.

well it looks like Torqlines drive shaft is a no go for the GSR people as it was designed for the Europe spec Evo X RS.
i'm still waiting back to see if it will fit the NA MR or if they plan on making one for the NA GSR.

The cost/benefit ratio of a carbon driveshaft is not that great, unless you are drag racing and are worried about a metal driveshaft exploding.

The carbon shaft itself is lighter of course than aluminum but once you start adding your yoke and hardware the weight benefit is not significant compared to an aluminum driveshaft.

Actually its reversed.. Carbon driveshafts really not recommended for Drag as they can explode and send parts thru the car.. Sure people run them but they are designed with road race more in mind.. 2k HP cars run aluminum driveshafts w/o an issue..

Agree on On2

Or unless your making big Hp. Rather spend it on AMS 2.2 or something else.

Carbon driveshafts broom upon failure and just sweeps the underside of your car.

Metal driveshafts send shrapnel through your interior.

I've been to the drag strip many times and have seen both first hand.

LOL a $750 (just going off IX pricing) driveshaft is nothing compared to a sleeved and built motor... plus I would buy a turbo and/or kit before the motor

It is cheaper then buying 2 piece brake rotors and you save almost the same amount of rotational weight.
