Guess what I got in my car a couple of minutes ago...lol.
There is definitely a big difference in weight between the OEM driveshaft and AWD's. I decided not to weigh it just because it wouldn't be completely accurate with amount of unsprung weight lost due to you eliminating an extra damper. The installation was pretty easy, I didn't need to remove anything else (though some exhaust systems might need to be removed). I removed the OEM unit by starting in the back and working my way forward, and removed it as one piece. You will need to use your stock driveshaft bolts, but that was about it. The only tools required were a 12mm and 14mm ratcheting wrenches, a ratchet, 14mm socket, universal joint, and a 6" extension.
Driving impressions...
I am currently on my pump gas tune right now, and I was able to feel a good difference. I can't really throw a number on it just because the butt dyno is out of cal, but I would say 3mph in the 1/4 would be a good shot at gains on the strip
