Forge Motorsport Adjustable Actuator

Has anyone installed this actuator?
http://www.forgemotorsport.com/conte...duct=FMPACEV10

I have bought one since they say it helps top end at holding boost. I do have the Dsport mag were they installed this part on the Dsport evo. They dont show you how they did install it or how far down the jam nut was.

So what i want to know is, should i just compare the length of the stock actuator and this aftermaket one so i dont mess up the boost levels? Or if someone know how far down the jam nut should be?

thanks.

When you install it you should think of setting your base boost . I have the end of the rod eye in the middle of the flapper end - this makes it hit about 15-18lbs base anything over you can adjust with your BC .

I set mine around 6 turns in from where it would just fit. I set my WGDC to 0 and logged a full throttle run for a base line. After cooling, I tightened it a bit more (I left my heat shields off for easier access) and did another run.

Here is the graph:

I did a whole write up on a local forum, but pictures are worth a few words:

I honestly don't think there is much. A buddy of mine with an 08 X has identical mods as my car (different brands), except that I have the Forge WGA. He actually scored higher on the exact same dyno by 10 hp and 15 tq (tuned by the same tuner). I thought it would help more, but I think because we both have 3 ports, the WGA is no real help.

My 3 port is from Perrin. Grimspeed also has them. Both are plug and play, and I doubt one can be better than the other.

I actually gained a ton of whp/wtq by going from the Forge WGA to the Blouch WGA that came with my turbo. The forge is barely an upgrade over the stock one IMO and is definitely not suitable for upgraded turbos.

I am eating the loss on the Forge WGA that I bought because I wouldn't feel right selling it now that I know how ****ty it is on the X (apparently it was good on the IXs).

We have installed these Forge actuators on some STi's and find them to be quite good. PM me for any questions about the install.
