Rexpeed o2 downpipe install & review *56k gtfo!!!!*

rexpeed o2 downpipe and ultimate racing mini muffler test pipe, ready to rock and roll

no flash, that is bling bling

inside of the UR mini muffler....stays 3 inch through out

looks just like the t1r unit....except $150 cheaper

mechanical o2 spacer that I put on top of the spacer that comes with ultimate racing test pipes....there is enough clearance to fit an extra spacer

at the shop ready to rock and roll....YES my secondary o2 sensor came out stupid...threads got a little fu*ked up even though we put lots of oil....we cleaned it as much as possible and put it onto the new pipe....it went in smooth but I wouldn't count on it surviving if I removed it again

leaving my stock catback hanging down for now

those motherfu*kin kumho XS tires are beefy

this is all the madness

o2 housing is a MAJOR PITA to work on...be prepared to curse and scream many times...haha

nice empty exhaust tunnel....ready to slap these bi+ches on!

rexpeed down pipe on

ultimate racing test pipe on

tightening that bi+ch on....GAME TIME BABY

As for impressions? Well I was running cobb stage 2 + 91 oct with a completely STOCK exhaust....I ran datalogs and it was safe for me...I thought the car pulled like a **** with stage 2 and stock exhaust....now with these two components put on, and with the same stage 2 map...holy crap....now this car just flies all over the rev range...it pulls hard all the way to redline....the spool up is insane now....the car just gets on it right when you gas the pedal

sorry no sound clips...but let me tell you, the car sounds COMPLETELY stock....no lie, there was no change in sound at all....i'm betting that ultimate racing mini muffler has alot to do with sound suppression....i'm also running stock catback....i don't plan to change that out because I want to keep the sleeper aspect of the car....and especially avoid un wanted attention.....i know i am missing out on about 15whp cuz of the catback....but i don't mind....i'd rather pocket the $700 on a catback and use that towards something else...

i can't comment on the reliability of the downpipe...since i only had it for a few weeks....but just by looking at the welds and flex section....i can tell its good quality....i can't say its bullet proof....but what i can say, its not ebay quality....and as for fitment issues....THERE ARE NONE....fits just like any other o2 downpipe out there....bolts right on....rexpeed does not supply a turbine gasket or aftermarket stud for the o2 housing (i know ETS supplies them).....but I ended up re using the stock turbine gasket because it is real thick and beefy....and I transferred the stock stud from the o2 housing onto my rexpeed downpipe....an extra 5 minutes of work, no problem

Do not hesitate to buy one of these....if you are on the fence of getting an o2 downpipe....but are hesitant on the fitment or the construction quality.....please take my word for it....you can't beat the price to performance ratio of the rexpeed o2 downpipe!

thanks again and have a great day!

$180 normal price

Nice write up. It would be perfect with some actual data as opposed to butt dyno data, but still a tremendous write up

Thank you

The vendor themselves said it just has 1 bung, and they do not offer any way to get a second one. so you either need to get one welded on yourself or get a HFC or test pipe with 2 bungs.

Nice writeup and pics, but if you look at the Turbo openings and the new O2DP openings they don't match. Is the Rexspeed O2 openings bigger or will it form a restriction?

i don't like the design of it. that area gets extremely hot and i don't trust that those welds will hold up over the long term. plus the opening on the turbo side looks kind of small.

for $180, its about what i would expect...hope it lasts.

rexpeed offers lifetime warranty on the pipe, i don't think they'd offer that if it was going to fall apart on you. but hey... who are we to stop you from blowing 450 on a different one.

just ordered my rexpeed 02DP yesterday, can't wait.

You can modify the stock muffler to flow better. That's what I'm running and it gives it a little deeper tone. Also, eBay has a 3" mid pipe that bolts onto the stock cat pipe and muffler for about $125 shipped. You should look into that as well!

if you open up your stock turbo housing, it matches exactly the size of rexpeed's o2 downpipe...i am not sure why AMS went with such a huge mouth....but obviously you don't need it because the turbine and wastegate aren't even that large....

there is no problem with restrictions with the rexpeed unit
