Just a update.

I imstalled a recirc catch can and it seems to still be getting alot of oil. Ill need to wait till Monday to order a new PCV valve. and try that one out... crossing fingers that it fixes it without a bad piston.

 

yeah I hope so too, where did you get the catch can from?

 

Took it off the sti sitting in the 2nd driveway. : )

 

pcv valve comes in today.

let us know what you find out. I dont have a X but i have been reading about this problem a lot lately i feel like (PCV valve)

 

They had one they were going to test on my car...but i don't have a motor right now, lol.

 

bump had the same problem oil shot out off my dipstick 2x.. and pcv valved was leaking...

 

You need krank vents...

 

Had the same symptoms, broken ring land.
Rebuilt the engine with cosworth internals, sadly this happened within the break-in
period:

 

Wow, how did that happen? Fuel leak?

 

Not exactly sure if it was a fuel leak after the engine was put back, or was it
because of the oil that splashed over the engine compartment when the tech forgot to tighten the oil cap.
