Short Block
It doesn't say that in the listing. I'd recommend calling Buschur as well if you're looking to go with a built solution.
If you want a junkyard pull then I've heard of long blocks going for around $4k. SSP has helped one or two guys locate them but I'd imagine that many of the performance shops could help you hunt one down if you want to go that route.

The $1895 AMS short block requires you to send them a good core block and crank. If your block is damaged you need to buy a new one from Mitsu for about $1600. New crank is about $700. AMS will supply the pistons, rings, rods, bearings, gaskets, machine work and assembly (short block/no head). If you broke something while the motor was running you probably want to check the crank and replace the oil pump in case it ingested some shrapnel ($300). Hopefully no pistons hit the head/bent valves, etc.
So if your head, crank and block are re-usable you can probably get the motor back together for about $3K. If you need a block then maybe $5K. At that point you have a very solid platform to support mods.
Buschur had a similar short block for $4400 including a new block. Both the AMS and BR short blocks are completely balanced and the machine work should be much better than the OEM mass production.
