yeah, bringing it home didn't go down well at all, had to at least be clean! it's a nice desk ornament now, a reminder not to modify

100% not the case!

anyone any experience/comments on using CP pistons/BC H beam rods to fix this, I've been offered them at a great price! I'm also using Cosworth Rod Bearings, Cosworth valve springs and Cosworth head gasket.............

I would not use Brian Crower anything.

If using an Hbeam, then I believe Manley and Eagle have some. We do not use HBeam rods in any of our racing engines. I beams or aluminums only.

Personally for a lightweight, heavy duty rod, our A1000 Aluminum units definately fit the bill.

Thanks for that, Manley turbo tuff I beams are my 1st choice, but the above combination is cheap, so I was tempted!!!!

We actually have a STD bore 9.0:1 JE pistons on Manley Steel Ibeam complete with JE pro seal rings already "pin fit" and clearanced ready for drop in. We were going to use them for a build but opted for +.20 bore and hone on that build which required the next size up piston.

They are sitting under glass now as art for our Manley Ibeams on our website but it seems they with the std bore pistons would be a perfect fit for you right now.

PM us if you would like to discuss a special deal for the set already pin fit for drop in.

Way to much timing advance causing severe pre-detonation (bad tune)?

no detonation, top of piston is undamaged, plug is undamaged, just oily, ran on this tune for 14 months!

Rod failure on a stock tune? Haven't seen anyone post that one. It's difficult to prove that it wasn't the tune if the car was tuned. Motors also tend to let go some time after the actual damage was done...have heard countless tales along those lines.

I would be interested in the stock size, not looking to do too much more then just replacing the internals for now!

What rpm was the motor seeing? How much boost? Stock head bolts? Test your coolant to see if any combustion gasses seeped in.
