ATP is a very well known company in the euro tuning, i know a lot of people that own VW and Audis that run their kits and had no problems.

It's just a GT3582R version of the Garrett Evo X GT3076R. So take the standard GT3582R CHRA (center housing and wheels) used on every GT3582 sold, and stuff them in the Garrett Evo X specific compressor and turbine housings. There is a known problem with the old Garrett GT3076R which was the internal wastegate arm failure. They have apparently been working on a fix.

However, by going with the ATP external wastegate downpipe, it bypasses the issue with the internal wastegate arm all together.

'Hiboost' has had the 3076 turbo on his car for a while now including a few trips to the drag strip and a few track days. He is now running the ATP external wastegate downpipe after the internal arm failed. His car is entered into the One Lap of America, probably one of the ultimate tests of a car.

The StopTech time attack Evo X ran the 3076 last year. Edmunds InsideLine had the 3076 on their Evo X project car. This 3582 will just be a bit laggier but make more power.

Wow that would be sweet. I might just go and purchase this over the red. Do you think I would be able to ugrade to a tubular manifold?? Would it benifit a lot over the stock mani?

I'm sure it the ATP 35r would edge out the FP Red in exchange for some lag, expect 20 psi boost in 4th gear around 4000-4500 range depending on mods and MIVEC settings used.

A tubular manifold would help mid and top end quite a bit, I recommend the Full-race manifold if you want the best low to mid range with decent top end gains or the ETS for mid to top rpm gains where a 35r would shine. This is all assuming you plan on keeping the RPM's in the 5500-8000 range when racing.

It will be a test for sure, I'm holding off on any turbo internal swaps before the trip as doing last minute changes can bury you more than anything for an event like that.

Boost holds 27 psi until 7200 now instead of slowly tapering from 6000-7200. Beyond 7200 it tapers to about 24 psi by 8000, presumably the limits of the compressor flow. I'm sure the 35r would hold boost better in that range over the GT3076r that I have.

I've got corner weighting and dyno time scheduled for this Saturday and will report back latest numbers as soon as I have them.

The ATP/Garrett has a very significant advantage over the Red, and that's the significantly larger turbine housing. It looks like the Garrett can eat the stock MHI/Red turbine housing. It's also ball bearing. And the compressor housing has a ported shroud to help reduce compressor surge.

I have personally talked to Mike at RRE, and also Shawn Church at Church Automotive. You can ask them their opinion on the Red.

Would the atp35r be streetable??? My power goal is 450-500whp. I plan on running 100% alky and doing piston and rods with some cams.

It'll spool roughly 300-500rpms later than the 3076R. Based on HiBoost's data:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-crank-hp.html

You'll hit 20psi at about 3850rpms in 4th gear, roughly, if you get the Full-Race manifold also.

Honestly, with cams, you'll probably hit 450whp on pump gas with the 3582.
