Convert SST to Manual

How difficult would it be to convert an Evo X SST to manual transmission.
Does the SST use the same gearbox mounting points, are the drive shafts the same, will the engine crankshaft accept a manual gearbox flywheel and clutch etc.

I would like to convert my car so it could be used for competition if possible.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Idk what your monetary situation is but I think from a price standpoint, it wouldn't be worth it.

The SST is so expensive, I would immagine you could cover most of the cost of the conversion by selling the SST. I am actually doing something similar on my SMT toyota MRS. Start by finding a total, and buying everything off it you can. Should be doable.

You could do higher quality leather and sound deadening for a whole hell of a lot cheaper than a tranny swap.

There's a lot more to the Touring than just leather and deadening...

Rain-sensing wipers, Sun-roof, etc...

Not saying it's practical, just the only possible reason I could see it happening...

Well as was stated last time this question was posted don't forget you have to add a third pedal, not saying that it cannot be accomplished it just sounds like a lot of work. Good Luck!!

He's talking about using the car for competition, probably not concerned with leather, etc ...

@Rallyman If it's possible to sell your GSR and pick up an MR/GSR w/SST where you are, that's probably your best bet.

Could be a fun project though. You would need to find a donor car for sure. The list of things you'd need is pretty substantial:

Transmission
Motor Mounts
Front Axles
Transmission Cooler
Trans Cooler Lines
TCU
Shifter Lever
Shifter Paddles*
Gauge Cluster*
Electrical Harnesses (TCU, ECU, gauges,...)
ECU Reflash (might have to swap ECUs as well)

*may be optional for a competition-only vehicle

You'll also need to find out is if the firewalls are different between the 5-speed and SST. The five speed has to accommodate the clutch pedal and master cylinder, which the SST of course lacks, so that could be snag.

This is all I could think of, I've probably omitted a few things.

I missed the competition part,

And correct me if I'm wrong but he wants to go from SST to Manual,

You've described the opposite

so any actual price on how much it would cost, it might be worth it if you can sell the old sst if you swap it
