I have a metal sound coming from under the hood after driving the car for a while. Does anyone's heat shield make noises by any chance?

metal sound...gotta be more specific than that. there's a range of noises under the hood that qualifies as a "metal sound."

 

Sounds like a hard metal. Not a soft metal, like gold.

 

it seems like more and more evo x's are failing as of late.

 

If "I hear a metal sound" indicates failure, I think we're all screwed.

 

^^ lol..OP maybe shoot a video or something to help you find out..it's hard to determine with you just saying "metal sound"..

 

Do you mean once the car is off? If so, normal

 

Could be a billion things...Any other symptoms? water in oil? high knock counts? smells? vibrations?

Does the sound occur on throttle? Off throttle? load/no load? in neutral while coasting?

More data or we will stop helping

 

i hear something frm mine too.. specially when im on half way of my clutch ... tried tightning the heat shields see if that works ..
