Towed evo- regular towtruck (non-flatbead)

I parked in this lot and ran across the street to run a few errands. Turns out that today they actually got serious with their "parking for custumers only" rule, and they had a tow truck standing by and watching. Long story short they towed my evo I managed to get them to bring me the car back since the guy only made it down the block, but what made it worst is that they used a regular tow truck (non-flatbead).
My question is to those who know is, should I be concerned that there was drivetrain damage even though they didnt make it far with the car? I drove the car around and it felt normal.

hes going to call me back when he gets off.. 9pm est..

he said in the 30 second convo "some damage is unavoidable, but blatant damage is another matter"

their job is to remove your car and fine you - not ruin and damage

You can't tow an AWD car like that and not expect it to be damaged.. I would have a shop check it out because you don't want something to let loose a few hundreds miles later.

Good luck, towing companies are kind of above the law.

I don't think you can sue either party since they had signs posted. Who's to say that they didn't know it was a AWD vehicle and towed it the same way they do any others? I am not on their side but just stating what someone else may tell you. Whether it be your local PD or whatever. Good luck.

I would sue and I would say that your were planning on eventually being a customer after you were done running your arrands since that was the place you were going to end up ...if i were you i would have been HEATED when they brought my car back not on a flatbed...its jus like if you got your evo repossessed and they didnt tow it on a flat bed you would not have to pay for the damage caused...and in that case if the finance company wanted to give u crap about it you could jus say that THEY were "technically" the owners of the car and they should have known how to tow "their" car correctly

umm dont take advice from this guy. Your suppose to check to see if a vehicle is fwd or rwd before you tow it. We have had new guys that forgot to check or thought they knew. Guess what? we had to repair the vehicle in are shop. Its there job and they should do it correctly. I promise you they are at fault lol

New york lawyer said "get a lawyer and go to town"

I suggest you take it to a mitsu dealer(unless you have warranty/mods issue) and literally - take them to the cleaners.

I would not suggest lying about saying you "were going to go there" etc. Just plain and simple - you towed it wrong. You did damage. I want components x,y,z replaced. Thanks - Here is the bill.
