what if you're in gear, moving, and don't need to stop until you get to your destination? haha...you could pull that off, rev match exactly w/ no need to clutch in to shift

Thats what I do every time. I've had my master go out 6 times, first was the stocker the rest were SSP CMC V1 and V2. V3 ftw! Running an Exedy 3puck HD.
But every time mine pops I just make a U-turn and head home rev matching. Even if I'm forced to come to a complete stop. I turn the car off, stop, put it in first, and start it in gear to get going again. Not my favorite option, but it sure beats paying for tows every 3 or 4 months
But V3 has been running for almost 13xxx miles now! Although it is starting to make a pop sound almost every time I start to press it lol

Funny you said that. My V3 died today. Lasted almost a year, minus car downtime from a hole in the transmission lol. On the first day of my new job btw.... good thing i have a magnus that i bought last year just incase the v3 gives out but wondering if i can install it by myself without a grinder. Planning on just wiggling, tugging, or hammering the 2 studs.

What CMC upgrade is everyone using at this time and if so how many miles on it since the replacement and are you running an aftermarket clutch?

I have a stage 4 comp clutch with 6 puck sprung disc, apprx 7k miles and the stock CMC went out this morning.
I have a MAP cmc upgrade but a local reputable shop wanted $900 to install it
Right now the car is at Fountain Mitsubishi in Orlando

It's a pain to install, 900 seems like a lot though.

The magnus, MAP and AMS one all seem to work fine now. Go with your preference.

I like MAP if you are going "cost effective", otherwise AMS is tough to beat for quality and looks.

They all do the same job. It's just a bracket to bolt a real CMC. But yeah $900 is too much. Find another shop.

I'm thinking that I will have Mitsu perform the recall, then over the next few weeks I will check out a few shops to install the upgrade kit. A dished out a decent amount of money to travel and buy the car so I'm low on funds as of now.

Well the dealer had an opening earlier to service this, it was the cmc. The cmc was replaced and the car drives great so far.
